Embrace the Lake

A few weeks ago Emma asked if she could have some friends out to the lake to celebrate the end of the school year. I decided to just go for it this week despite the fact that we are still living in cool temperatures. The high yesterday was 68 degrees. Luckily the sun shined down on us and we were, for the most part, the only boat on the lake. It didn’t matter to these girls. They were completely undaunted by the frigid water and tubed their hearts out. Unfortunately (and fortunately at the same time) I dumped Emma off the tube. I am so glad the only kid to fall in was mine. She was freezing and after her fall we headed back to the cabin for a quick dinner on the dock. I loved watching all these girls interact with each other. They will all be in the same class again next year. It’s a good thing they like each other. IMAG0068

COLD!!! Kids are daring though. I remember trips to the beach with the boys and they would go in the water reguardless of how cold it was. When I was in my early 20's, someone dared me to jump in the Colorado River when it was like 50 degrees!! I did it, it was hard to breath it was soooo cold. Believe me I got out of there as fast as I could. Glad the girls had fun :)
