It's A Wonderful Life

Has it really been 14 years since Jason and I formed our little family? In so many ways it seems so much longer but in other ways it's passed us by like a flash. If anyone had told us what was in store for us 14 years ago I don't know if I could have processed it all. I have to say I love this husband of mine. Marriage is hard work, no doubt about it, but Jason makes it easy. I love him so much. Our anniversary this year was very low key but we did manage to celebrate by sneaking out after the kids were in bed and catching a movie. We saw Dan in Real Life and it was the perfect movie for our anniversary. I loved how the setting of the show was a family reunion with such a happily married mother and father. It's what we are working toward everyday. The thought of our quiver full of children coming home with all their little kids is so exciting. I keep trying to stop the clock and preserve us just as we are now but the thought of a houseful of our posterity makes me so excited.

18 Days Later

It's been 18 days since my last post and each day has been filled with craziness. It all began the Sunday before we left on our vacation. I was released from my tranquil calling as Stake Primary President and moments later called to be Ward Activities Chairperson. Everytime I attend a ward activity I say in the back of my mind, "I'm so glad this isn't my calling." In fact, last year was so crazy around our ward Christmas party that I couldn't even bring a treat to share. Fast forward to this year and I was in charge of the whole thing. How things can change in the blink of an eye.

When we arrived home from our Thanksgiving trip I kicked into high gear and started planning. It took all my spare minutes to pull it off but we ended up having a great Christmas party.

Here are some of the highlights:

Our theme was Polar Express so we had Brother Barnett play the part of the engineer and take all the kids to the North Pole.

Once they got to the North Pole they were greeted by Santa Claus who was played by our former bishop.While the kids were at the North Pole the rest of us played a couple of games. We decorated human Christmas trees (our bishopric) and

played the Reindeer Drop Relay (aka Poopin Potatoes game).

Then we brought the kids back and they put on a Nativity Program. Jonah is Joseph and he insisted on having facial hair. We ended the evening with yummy treats and hot chocolate.
