Seven!

Monday my baby turned seven! Where does the time go? We celebrated with new roller blades and a bike helmet and a trip to splashdown.





Here are some great things about Jack that I don't want to forget:

For his birthday he really, really wanted an itouch. He is obsessed with mine and can do more with it than I can.

He loves the weather and checks it multiple times a day. He especially loves to check the weekend weather to see if it's a good ski (snow or water) day.

He equally loves the mail. Every day he checks it and hopes that there is something for him. When there is, his smile is worth a million dollars.

He is extremely organized, probably the most organized of all the kids. All his things have a certain place and he thrives on routine. He loves to hang all his school work in his room and at one point every square inch of the walls around his bed were covered with papers.

Hooray For the Last Day!

We made it! Today is the last day of school. Every year, after spring break I feel like school should just be over. I have to force myself to stay involved. I am so proud of my kids who didn't check out early and stepped it up a few notches these past few weeks. They all finished strong and I can't believe we have another year under our belts. We now have a sophomore, 8th grader, 5th grader, 3rd grader, 2nd grader and 1st grader.

Summer Bucket List

Only 9 days left of school. We have had such a wet and rainy spring that it's hard to even think of summer. But it's coming fast and before I know it the sun will be shining and we'll be searching for things to do. I saw this great idea on someone's blog...but I can't remember where. Last week for FHE we decided to make a summer bucket list of all the things we want to do. I am hoping we can use the list to plan our weeks and as a go to place when the kids are looking for something to do. My favorite is visit a volcano. We'll see if we can pull off a visit to Mt. St. Helens. I'm hoping for a lazy summer of no schedules, lots of sun and water and reading together.
